China Soul Retreats
Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Guilin, Putuoshan Island

A picturesque 52-mile boat ride down the Li River displays the Southwest’s natural beauty that painters have admired for centuries.  The mountain peaks are breath-taking as they rise high into a violet mist.

On the Li River you will view bamboo rafts of straw-hatted fishermen that tame cormorants to help them catch fish.  On the left is a fisherman slowly crossing the Li River.

Temples in China are many and of a large variety.

Pu Tuo Shan Island is regarded as one of the Four Sacred Buddhist mountains, and is the island of the Bodhisattva of Mercy and Compassion, Lady Quan Yin.

Putuo is to Chinese, what Potala (the mountain home of the deity) is to Sanskrit.  The Potala Palace in Lhasa is inhabited by the same Bodhisattva's energy. It is in this enchanting island that our classes will be held.

Shanghai, where the east and the west mix.  This picture is on the Huangpu river, over-looking the bund at night.  A night ferry from Putuoshan pulls in as the sun rises in Shanghai.  A less expensive river boat at night is just as rewarding.
